Royal Shakespeare Company

A Deep Sleep is a Royal Shakespeare Company commission in response to a Shakespearean quote:

'This sleep is sound indeed' هذا هو النوم العميق بحق

This passage is from Henry IV, Part 2, where Prince Hal sees his father, the King, on his deathbed. The crown is an incredible symbol of authority and alters not only how the wearer feels, but how she or he is perceived.

The quote is repeated twice around the crown in Diwani script and was first shown at the Well Said! exhibition at the Royal Shakespeare Company followed by the same show at the Barbican, London.
